The Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami School of Medicine reported in a recent study that employees who received 15 minute massages twice a week at work were more alert and adept at math problems, as well as less stressed and depressed than those who spent their time relaxing in other ways. Wellness at the work place can contribute to increased overall productivity and efficiency. Work-site massage is performed in a specifically designed massage chair. Each massage lasts 10 to 15 minutes. Employees remain fully clothed while the therapist focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands. Work-site massage can be implemented during employee breaks, on lunch hours, or after work hours have closed. Work-site massage can be instituted as part of your company’s incentive program, recognition programs, years-of-service awards, wellness programs and more.
